mydarkenedeyes - New kaleidoscopic paper sculptures by Jen Stark.

Paper is a cheap and accessible medium that can produce beautiful results. However, it requires meticulous skill to expertly maneuver and manipulate the fragile material. Artist Jen Stark possesses the ability to utilize the medium and reveal new ways of viewing its construction and exposing its beauty.

The paper sculptor, who was born in Miami but currently lives and works in Los Angeles, has recently opened her first solo exhibition called To the Power Of. The exhibit features a variety of new multilayered works that showcase her intricate incisions and carefully crafted paper art. Equipped with a stack of construction paper, an X-Acto knife and some glue, Stark has yet again created an amusement park for the eyes with both a wide colour spectrum and repetitive visual sequences. The recurring geometric patterns in each piece reflect many elements of life, including the passage and intervallic rhythm of time.
